Membership in CHPA is open to active duty, retired and veteran helicopter aircrew members from all branches of service and all wars in which the US has flown helicopters.
In addition to the camaraderie associated with a gathering of combat helicopter pilots, CHPA provides mentoring and other services to current and former pilots and crew members. Part of our mentoring program includes career assistance and guidance to individuals dealing with issues relating to claims and other benefits at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
CHPA exists because of our shared experience of war. An answer to the question "Why join CHPA" is summarized by Marine, Michael Norman in his memoir These Good Men. "I now know why men who have been to war yearn to reunite..." Click here to read more of the quote from Michael Norman.
Apply for Membership today to foster the legacy of the combat helicopter crew. If you are not eligible for membership, click here to see how you can support the Combat Helicopter Pilots Association.

Savannah!!
We're moving along on our planning for the 2009 Annual Meeting in Savannah, GA. We’ll be staying at the Inn at Ellis Square and have secured a very attractive room rate for everyone. The Inn is located on Bay Street within easy walking distance of many of the attractions that make Savannah such a wonderful city.
This year we'll continue the story begun last year, of operations in the Persian Gulf with our guest speaker, LTC Ed Hughes, USA Ret. Ed was the original commander of TF 118, the regular Army unit built in a span of 100 days to relieve TF 160 on station in the Persian Gulf during the Iran/Iraq "Tanker Wars".
The dates for this year is Thursday through Monday, October 1 through 5. Make plans now to join us for this year’s event!
