Rocket Rochat ...
May 30th 2010

Dear Members,
It is with great regret that we bring to you the sad tidings of the passing of CHPA member, Louis J. "Rocket" Rochat III, A and E, Troop 1970 - 1971, 1/9th, 1st CAV. Lou slipped the surly bonds, one last time Sunday, May 30th, 2010 at 4:45 CST.
The Combat Helicopter Pilots Association sends their most sincere condolences to Ann and the rest of Lou's family and his many friends. He was much loved and will never be forgotten.
We'll see you again on Fiddler's Green, Lou. Rest in Peace — You will be missed.

Official arrangement information is still pending, however it is expected that there will be a local viewing for Lou in San Antonio this next week. Then Lou's body will be shipped to Arlington for burial. There is a cost by the Arlington authorities for the holding period between receipt of the remains and the actual burial, which is anticipated to be in the thousands of dollars.
CHPA has once again established a fund to help cover the costs associated with burial costs. If you'd like to donate you may do so by contacting CHPA at 800.832.5144 or you can send a check made out to CHPA with "Rochat Funeral" in the memo field to:
CHPA PO Box 15852 Washington, DC 20003
All donations will be tax deductible and will be used to help the Rochat family defray funeral expenses.
CHPA thanks you for your support and generosity.

Holiday Boxes for the Troops
Another Great Success!

Thank you to everyone who donated to make the 2009 Holiday Boxes for the Troops project another tremendous success.
Last year, CHPA provided 84 boxes for aviators and air crew members deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. This year, with your generous help, we will provide 145 boxes for deployed troops.
This success is the result of your support. And thanks to that support we will make the holidays brighter for deployed Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. On behalf of the deployed soldiers thank you to you all.
